That one generic you always make

Ever found yourself with a particular build you like so much it shows up in subsequent playthroughs? I like to keep things mixed up on my runs, but I've noticed I can't escape a fondness for this Orator setup:

Female Orator
Arts of War
Auto-Potion
Arcane Strength / Defense Boost (before Magic Guns)
Teleport

Naturally, she only really becomes a practical member about halfway through Chapter 2, but I always have a ton of fun building her to this. Not too powerful, and never a frontliner, but she has no trouble contributing to a fight, and the gun + Defense Boost + Auto-Potion setup makes her surprisingly hard to kill or even critically injure. And it might be my luck turning around, but she still manages to get great percentages on invitations and boring people to sleep. I might mix her up a bit (give her Time Magic as a secondary or something), but she's probably my favorite support build yet.

Any of you guys got a recurring favorite to share?

Forgive me if I have any errors on the setup, it has been a long time since I've picked up FFT.

Male Monk
White magic / math skill
counter
Two Swords
Move +3

The main points of memory were the combination of monk skills and the ninja's two swords. Last time I went through, I destroyed Velius in 3 turns.

By the end, I think I'd dismissed most of my generics in favour of named characters, although I did keep a female Chemist with White Magic on my books (see the Great Debate for more info), if only in case something went horribly wrong.

I can't really remember the other combinations I did though, apart from having everyone (generics and unique characters alike) naturally equipped with Item, Gained JP UP and Auto-Potion as soon as I could learn those abilities, as I tended to vary a lot in character set up from battle to battle, depending on the situation.

Oh, and for the final battle I set up Ramza as a Squire with Two Swords (equipped with a Excalibur and Save the Queen that I'd duped) along with Item, Auto-Potion and Move+2. Naturally, he made sport of
Spoiler:
Altima and her pathetic little demon helpers in the final battle

I love to use generics instead of named characters and while I can't think of any particular setup that I "always use," it is not uncommon to see a Female Samurai with Punch Arts, Blade Grasp, Magic Attack UP (or Two Hands for zerging), and Teleport in my team as a front line multi-use (buffing, healing, pewpewing).

I'm also partial, depending on the mission, to a Male Ninja with Steal, Counter (or Auto Potion), Concentrate, and Move +3.

For some reason, I end up making a lot of Chemists. XD

But besides them, either Time Mages/and or Black Mages. I really like to blow my enemies away with magic.

Lancer

Javelin 2
Grand Helmet
Robe of Lords
Bracer

Punch Arts
2 Hands
Counter
Move+3

Hitting just about anything on the map for 999 each time was always fun. Protect + Shell is always there just for kicks.

Female Ninja
Iga Knife
Koga Knife
Thief Hat
Secret Clothes
Chantage

Throw
Steal
Speed Save
Concentrate
Move + 2

Fast attacker with Reraise for support. Being able to land ranged attacks and steal skills so often makes for some fun battles.

That's one thing that's so cool about FFT... Steal is actually a useful offensive skill in addition to netting you goodies.

*yoink!*

My teams have always been composed of more generics than named characters.

One that I always have is a female Chemist. I don't remember specifics but I do know, I'll equip her with a gun, and use white magic as her secondary ability.

So she can:
-attack from a distance
-heal in a pinch
-heal greater amounts, if I can afford the time

I always seemed to end up with a Ninja or four.

Spell Edge
Spell Edge
Twist Headband
Power Sleeve
Germinas Boots

Punch Art
HP Restore
Attack UP
Move-HP UP
