FFOtakon - Why not?

Like on the Wiki, might as well get this thread going.

Basically, Otakon's like AX but for the East Coast folk. Instead of Sunny California, it's in Not-as-Sunny-but-with-plenty-more-crabs Baltimore, Maryland, right smack dab in the middle of the Inner Harbor (the part of the city you can walk in without getting shot).

Luna and I are going with a metric fuckton of people from my college. Who else is in? I guarantee good times in the Inner Harbor. I will also buy booze (as in, you give me money, I get you tasty beverages) for those of you who might not be 21 years of age or older.

It's definate that I will be down there with some of my college friends from Rider. I'll be definately in the Inner Harbor since commuting to the convention center is like playing hide and seek with Cereberus seeking you....It's nearly impossible to win.

Hopefully I will also be cosplaying as Aion from Chrono Crusade, so it'll be impossible to miss me.

I'm definitely coming. I'm also working on helping Rain out with a ticket so he can come on out too.

I have no idea who I'm cosplaying as. I have a back-up Quistis costume just in case that I wore for Halloween last year, but I'd like to do something new this year. Any ideas?

I really wanna come this year, but AX will put a strain on my cash. If I can get another job between now and then, It'll be doable though.

Depends on how far you are willing to take the costume in terms of design, makeup, ect ect...

I'd be willing to go all the way. I'm not terribly good with a sewing machine, but I could get someone to make one, I bet.

hahah ok, any particular theme in mind, Mj? Like wings, magical girls, goth/vampire, etc etc. (If ya have an updated pic of yaself, that would make the suggestion process a lot easier)

If I can get someone to pitch in on a ticket, it's more than likely I can go. Getting time from work will be the most difficult thing out of all of it.

I'll pitch in some, Rain.

I had an idea. I drive an explorer, and if anyone between Louisville and Baltimore who would like to just hitch a ride can. It's an 8 hour drive, but my truck gets a fair amount of gas mileage for an SUV (I can go around 250-300 miles or so between fill ups) and Baltimore's about 650 miles away, methinks. If 4-5 of us want to go, it'd be way cheaper than a plane ticket. It'll probably be about $200 there and back (not counting driving around Baltimore if we want to), which is the cost of a plane ticket there. Split 5 ways isn't bad at all. And road tripping is fun.

Any takers?

Between Louisville and Baltimore? Is Richmond, Va close enough in that line to count, cause not having to get a Train ticket would make getting to Otakon about 1000% easier since it owould cost less than said train ticket

Theoretically, you could take 64 all the way from Louisville to Richmond, then make a straight shoot up 95 to Baltimore, but it might take longer.

If I was between Louisville and Baltmore, I'd be a taker. Looks like I may be flying directly to Balitmore, but that's not set into stone, yet. If anyone be willing to pick me up that can, if that does happen, that would be awesome :B
