The Gaming Deal Thread

I'm sure there are people like me that don't have much money and wait for deals to buy games. I'm never see a deal thread here and thought it would be useful. Post the game, the deal, and where it is. I'll start with the ones I've gotten recently.

Grim Grimoire - $20. Wal-Mart
Rogue Galaxy - $20. Wal-Mart

Front Mission - $20. Gamestop

Personally, I think the game sucks, but you can get Wartech: Senko no Ronde for the 360 for $9 used at Gamestop. I think it's $13 new.

For those of you that dont have Abyss yet my old K-Mart has its copies of Tales of the Abyss on clearance for $25.

Most of the time clearance markdowns are chain wide the problem is if your K-Mart still has copies.

I see Rogue Galaxy still for $40 on Wal-Mart's website. Was this a sale, now gone? Or in store only or something?

I know that UK Gamestation did a deal on Smackdown Vs Raw 2008 where it was half price for all systems, so 25 quid for a week-old PS3 game was good stuff. Just checked, the offer has ended now though, but they're currently doing an advent calender online, where each day until Christmas a new game is reduced quite significantly (half price most days it seems), so could be worth checking out every few days - http://www.gamestation.co.uk/images/category/24-7.asp

Thank you!!! I'm about halfway through the game and love it, but it was on a borrowed copy. Now the adventure continues...

It's probably just in stores. I found it in their big cardboard stand thing with all the other clearanced games.

Abyss has been $30 at Wal-Mart for a long time. So has Xenosaga Episode III.

Shining Force EXA is supposed to be $20 at Wal-Mart too, if you can find a copy.

Looks like I'll have to get my ass to Wal-Mart at the first available opportunity - I've been looking to pick up Rogue Galaxy and Xenosaga Ep. III at some point. Also, I went into a GameStop this week and their Front Mission wasn't $20, so I dunno if that's just an online thing, or if some stores haven't gotten the message yet.

Adding to this, I saw this amazon.com games deal over at Kotaku. Notable titles (to me, anyway) include:

- God Hand (PS2) - $14.99
- Beautiful Katamari (360) - $29.99
- Dracula X Chronicles (PSP) - $19.99
- Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (PC) - $19.99
- Front Mission (DS) - $24.99

I mean, I don't even own a PSP and I want to pick up Dracula X Chronicles now. And my adventure-gaming heart of childhood wants Dreamfall, while my portable tactician side craves the Front Mission deal.

EDIT: Has anyone here played Grim Grimoire or Soul Nomad and the World Eaters? If so, are they worth picking up?

Did Front Mission actually not come up as $20 at the register or did it still have the $34 sticker on it? I've heard that some stores have been lazy and haven't put the new $19.96 sticker on it, but at the register, it comes up at that price when they scan it.

I got Grim Grimoire, but I haven't played it yet. It's a RTS, so it'll be interesting to see if it's any good.

If you have a Circuit City near you, you might want to check them first to see if they have Xenosaga Episode III. It's $16.96 at Circuit City.

As far as I know, price drops at Gamestop are company-wide. Unless the price was re-raised (Gamestop has done this before) to the $35 point, chances are that someone just forgot or didn't bother to put the $19.99 sticker on it.

Even so, it should ring up as $20 at the register. The scanner picks up only the SKU on the sticker, not the price on it. It'll go with whatever the most recent price is tied with the SKU.
