FFVIII on Japanese PSN

I'm sure US release to follow eventually..

During their press conference at the Tokyo Game Show, Sony revealed that Final Fantasy VIII is now available to download on the Japanese Playstation Store. The classic RPG was first released on the Playstation in 1999. It will be joining Final Fantasy VII as a digital download for the Playstation 3 and PSP.

Damn you Sony teasing us like this and making us your bitches.

Now I really need to get a bigger memory stick for my PSP, especially if they're really nice and decide to make it a hat trick and release FFIX for download. Either way, I'll be grabbing this once it gets a release on the Aussie PSN.

What's nice about putting the PS1 versions on the PSP if you're hacked is that you don't have to chew up 2+gigs at a time; just load whatever disc you need and you're set.

Yeah, it probably won't be too long until this is released. Tactics was added last week.

No doubt you luck bastards over there will get it soon. Us poor sods over here don't get much on the PS store, we've still not got MGS. Sony Europe really are terrible.

Yep. I'm almost done FFVIII, looking forward to portable IX. It's my least-experienced of the PS1 FFs, having only beaten it twice.

I went straight to IX after you helped me set up my PSP. It worked pretty well on 3.71. I only played about 6 hours in and stopped but I'll be getting back to it in the month of December; I've been going along with RPGamer's year of FF where each month you play a game; I'm up to VII.

I think I saw a listing for FFVIII for PSN on the ESRB a few months back. It might have beent actics. But it's pretty inevitable we'll see it here. I don't have to worry because I still got my discs in good condition. Plays just fine.

Crazy! I don't have enough time to game for a game a month, I've spent months on VIII alone. Of course, I am fully leveled, junctioned and abilitied, and only today got to Disc 4. XD

But man, I'm excited for IX! Except the slow battles. Maybe I should play something else in between to ease the transition...
