Introduction

Hi all, i would first like to introduce myself to this forum. I am a dedicated Final Fantasy gamer and have been since Childhood (i have dedicated hours and hours of my life to Final Fantasy) I live for FF!!!

I am building this gallery to fulfill my Childhood dream of giving back to the Final Fantasy Franchise for their Excellent Games!

THE FINAL FANTASY GALLERY PROJECT

What is it?

I have come here in hope to create a one for all image gallery for the Final Fantasy Franchise. My goal is to create one of the most well respected Final Fantasy Image Galleries out there - Something that's clean in look, and high in quality is going to be key for me!!!

This is going to be an extremely hard task to accomplish, but i feel that with the help of fans i should be able to overcome this obstacle without too much problems - More on this below...

How can you help me accomplish this task?

It's the public that will view my Gallery, so it's the public that will decide on what you would like to see in a centralized gallery for all things Final Fantasy!

Please reply to this post for any recommendations at all (big or small) and i'll do my best to make it happen - Your Input here is the key to my dream Final Fantasy gallery!

Who will Upload pictures to the Gallery?

Well as it is going to be a Large Fanart gallery, i'd really appreciate your contributions to my gallery, i will credit you for all images that have been uploaded. Quality is key for me here, i'm trying to gather the nicest images from all over and upload it for the world to see - Alot of my work will be from Deviantart Artiste.

I will setup an FTP account for anyone who would like to share their own contributions for the gallery, or you could just attach images to this post and i'll upload it accordingly

This is how i was going to structure it - but i will not go ahead with this until you all have confirmed this would be the best approach! Let me know what could be changed for the better!

I am going to pay a large amount of money to purchase a dedicated web host server to host all the images very shortly

This is going to be my past time hobby and i really do hope others do help out

I have already got many pictures uploaded to my gallery, and just sorting the structure out right now. The design of the website is nearly finalised after several weeks of tweaking. I think i have got my gallery looking just the way i want it to with a really nice interface

Also like to add that i have a commenting feature in place

There are a lot of great images here. You may have noticed the thread at the top of this board - the creator is putting together a collage of nearly every Final Fantasy character, and he scoured the internet for images of all of them. Check his site, and you may want to private message him for help finding links to other gallery sites.

Welcome to Final Fantasy Online! A lot of people here are rather apathetic about the series right now, in large part because of the long time since the last console main series release, but maybe some new blood will shake up this place!

EDIT: Also, make sure you read the rules for this website. The moderators hold the members to a higher standard when it comes to things like grammar, punctuation, and consecutive posts in a single thread, and those standards are a big reason why so many of us like these forums. Give the rules a quick look over, and I'm sure you will fit in just fine. Again, welcome!

My approach is a little different as i am veering towards the high end pieces of art as opposed to quantity as my dedicated server is optimised for link speed and not bandwidth (thats not to say i do not have much room because i do)....

i'd like to upload the rare high end peices that are scoured accross the web, and will only upload if credits are in place for their respective artists because i do not want to take credit for anyones artwork!

FF500 is an Excellent Gallery and believe it to be the best centralised resource for FF images, if my gallery is half as decent as the FF500 then i will be happy

My approach structure is quite different which is why i'd like to get all your opinions first before going ahead with the rest of the website.

I am adding the Commenting feature for viewers to place their comments on Artwork and hope the viewers utilize it accordingly

I have finalized my web layout and will be uploading picture during the day, will have a link to my gallery very very shortly so you get a better understanding of my goals

Really hope others can contribute and help me create my gallery.

Most of the images I have listed for each character are official artwork, so feel free to use any of those that you wish. If you're unsure whether an image is official Square artwork or fanart, you can just ask me and I'll let you know.

As for places you can find a lot of official art, the FFWiki and FF Compendium are great resources. You can sort of use my sight as a jumping off point, searching for each of the characters on my list on those sites.

My gallery is now live so you guys can advise what you all think.....Content is very limited and there's still alot of work to be done,

I will be making descriptive notes about each gallery shortly, and right now my collection of images is only FFVII right now, but i'm working slowly to build it up...

Any suggestions???

have made alot of changes to this gallery since yesterday, been working on it all weekend long and tweak alot of things...

Hey all - What would viewers like to see more of in my gallery, i have now got my layout almost ready to go, now its all about content and more content....

It takes me much longer to upload images as i credit each and every bit of artwork i receive. in the long run its all worth it

Just an update on what i'm currently in the process of doing on my galery right now.

Right now i am working through the Final Fantasy VII section under Characters, trying to find some of the best artwork from all over to upload. It's much harder for me as i credit each and every respective artist as i feel they deserve it for such great artwork

I Have completed the following characters for FFVII so far

Cloud
Sephiroth
Tifa
Zack

....Will be moving onto Aeris, and then Vincent and beyond

At this stage i am trying to get pictures of the most popular characters and then once my gallery is well established i will slowly add everyone else to it.

FFVIII/FFIX/FFX to follow once FFVII is complete

Really getting into this now, and it's been great!
