New Final Fantasy IV scan
http://i12.tinypic.com/4ml3qxj.jpg
It would be nice if it was a better scan, but it's still looking pretty good so far.

And the final nail in the coffin was hammered down. Now it's time to bury this "belief" that Amano's designs can NEVER be realized in 3D. If these CG versions don't make people believe, they're as blind as Stevie Wonder.

Wow looking verrryy good, is that in the background CG models of character that I see. I can't wait how this will turn out. (FFIV is my favor in series).
I remember when they re release them on PSone, seeing the CG cinemas were bad on FFIV compare to FF V,VI. I guess at the time they were learning how the PSone hardware work or maybe they didn't have enough time.... whatever.
I hope it just more then intro CG, but I'm not holding my breath, still a wish has come true for me. Once this comes to NA I finally buy a DS and this damn game
Edit: You read my mind Gaia Lanzer

Awww man this just gets me more excited =D. I thought FF3 DS was sweet and it looks like it's the same kind of style ^^ so it will be cool! <3
Some moments in that game were so awesome on the SNES, imagine on the DS ;_;. I hope they won't change the story so as to remove the good parts >.>...
This remake will certainly be the best one yet, I believe x_X the PS1 remake was pointless ( only 2 cinematics which were pretty bad quality compared to FF5 and 6's remake ) if you owned the SNES version. Maybe that's why they packed it with Chrono Trigger xP the animations in Chrono Trigger were kinda awesome, so it made up for it.

It's looking pretty good.
As long as VI is getting the 3D remake treatment next, I'll be a happy boy.

Am I the only one that hates the chibi look of FFIII and FFIV DS?

No, you're not. Especially for FFIV, where I've always had the impression the characters are supposed to look realistically proportioned.

Oh yes, totally ^_^! But maybe they're going to remake a 3D version of FF5 too, that wouldn't be too bad either.

I think he meant Amano's good designs.

They said they are going to take out some of the useless parts of the story and expand on other parts of the story. I'm not too worried about it. The director for this version is the original scenario writer for the original version of Final Fantasy IV. He said that only 25% of what they actually wrote made it into the game. It'll be interesting to see what they add.

IIRC, the reason the FFIV FMVs are crappier quality than FFV/FFVI is because the FFIV re-release onto the PS actually came before the FFV/FFVI one in Japan. And I believe it didn't even come packaged with Chrono Trigger like it did with Chronicles.

I'm hoping they skip 5 and go straight to 6.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Final Fantasy V is at TGS and they announce Final Fantasy VI at the next Square Enix Party.

Each of the PSX ports of Final Fantasy IV, V, and VI were all released separately. They later released them in a set called Final Fantasy Collection.
